BONDI TO MANLY WALK ABORIGINAL WHALE SYMBOL

On June 7, 2019 it was our great pleasure to launch the Bondi to Manly Walk Aboriginal Whale Symbol.

This Symbol assists walkers from around the world by providing directions and way-marking along the entire 80km length of the Bondi to Manly Walk. 

The announcement resulted from an historic partnership between the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council, the Metropolitan local Aboriginal Land Council, the landholders along the Bondi to Manly Walk from all three levels of government in Australia and Bondi to Manly Walk Supporters. 

It was a fantastic launch with all partners pleased to have this beautiful symbol as the heart of the Bondi to Manly Walk.

Former Senator and Australian Ambassador to the USA, the Hon. Arthur Senadinos AO, who joined us at the launch said;

"I think it's very important that our Indigenous heritage is at the heart of this walk.. and the fact that that symbol will be all along the walk so every part of the harbour will remind people we have an Indigenous heritage.

It's part of what we are as Australians, it's unique to Australia, it's indispensable to our identity and a statement to the world that we take our heritage seriously, we celebrate it and we're very proud of it"
